ELMO stands for Enough Let’s Move On.

As a team, you agree that you can call 'ELMO' at any stage of a meeting/discussion. You agree on the number of 'ELMOs' to be called by different people, before you in fact drop the topic and move to the next item.

So if 3 different people call ELMO, then as a rule you move on to the next topic, no exceptions!

Why use Enough Let's Move On?

It helps keep discussions on track; enables everyone to be heard; increases engagement, and it reduces the risk of endless discussions between a few, whilst the rest slowly becomes comatose.

You could make ELMO part of your 'Social Contract', which I covered in a previous post.
